Number plates you look up

When you check a plate, it's sent to DVSA's MOT History API to fetch the record. The result is held in Cloudflare's cache for up to an hour so repeat lookups are faster, then dropped. We don't keep a list of the plates people search, and we don't link searches to you.

MOT records describe vehicles, not people. They don't include the owner's name or address.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets no cookies. It's hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and block abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

If we add advertising or analytics, this page will change first and we'll ask for consent where the law requires it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
